TTCF Easter International Grand Prix Cycling event has reportedly received the prestigious UCI status. It’s undoubtedly something really grand for the event as the cycling championship is the 1st in its region to be honored with such an esteemed status.
The new cycling road event would start off on the suspicious occasion of Easter Sunday right from 6 in the morning in the Diego Martin region, near KFC. The announcement was confirmed by Tourism Ministry office which has collaborated with Phillips Promotions & TTCF- to stage this road event featuring a good 49 miles of course for international cyclists & 41mile of fun ride meant for the well-wishers, amateur & recreational cyclists.
As per the reports from TTCF chief Robert Farrier, the cycling event covers participants from almost every age group, ranging from under-7 riders to 70+ cyclists. The championship includes UCI sanctioned cycling events such as match sprint, scratch race & international keirin that would provide points towards world ranking.
‘When it comes to cycling it’s the points which rule & this event assures points for the international races- as one participates in this event, he will earn a point & a ranking”, stated Farrier.
“As a rider, now one has this chance to apply in squads with his ranking that will help to earn some considerable dollar. Thus, it’s no less than a great boon for local cyclists here – many of them haven’t toured the world yet one can stay here & receive points & ranking. In fact, this is a major purpose of earning the
UCI accreditation for this road event.”
The Easter Grand Prix would feature live overhead helicopter filming & would work to raise funds for Children’s Life Fund & is strongly expected to pull in more & more foreign tourists.
